Chrysler Repair: Engine wiring harness: 2.5L V-6 crank sensor, chrysler seabring, crankshaft position sensor

Question
QUESTION: When I pulled the engine I pulled apart one hookup to the transmission it has three wires but I don't know what order they go in to wire it back up. The colors are red, gray with black stripe, dark blue with light blue stripe. And on the heater core lines that come from the engine do i have to have those quick connect clamps or can i cut those off and use hose clamps that you tighten down?

ANSWER: What is the year/make/model/engine/transmission type?

QUESTION: 1998 Chrysler seabring convertible 2.5 automatic. i can see where the wires go in and they go to this little black nob inside the transmission by the torque converter

Answer
Hi Justin,
That appears to me to be the crankshaft position sensor's wires. They are actually orange, gray/black, and black/light blue. If you lift the tab on the plug you can remove it from the sensor socket and them using a soldering pencil reattach the wire to the plug pins, The assignment are: orange to pin 1, black/light blue to pin 2, and gray/black to pin 3. The hole numbers will be found engraved on the plug. About the heater core hose attachment points: I wonder whether the nipples on the core itself have a ridge that would prevent the hose/clamp from slipping off of them and if not then I would be inclined to stick with the quick-connect fittings.
