Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Le Baron: engine falters, chrysler le baron, diagnostic capabilities

Question
Hi, My names Courtney and my car has recently had an issue
where when i try to drive it and go to accelerate and push the
pedal it feels like it is chugging forward and does not want
to keep going almost as if it wants to completely kick out and
die.

Answer
Hi Courtney.
The most efficient approach is to use the built-in (on-board) self-diagnostic capabilities of the car. Turn the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing this in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat the process to be sure you have an accurate set of flash counts. Write back with a follow-up question that tells me the flash counts in the order of appearance. Then we can go from there to decide what the codes suggest is wrong. Be sure to tell me the year, body style, and engine size (L).
