Chrysler Repair: Head removal on 97 neon SOHC, cylinder head bolts, power steering pump

Question
Trying to get the head off, but the bolts on the engine mount attached to block covering timing belt cover are to long, they are un threaded but hit the wheelwell, these are the 3 bolts attached to the block, one is pivot for power steering pump, any help or advice?

Answer
Hi Gerry,
Hear are the steps from the '97 manual for removing the cylinder head:
Release the fuel pressure
Disconnect battery - cable
Remove air cleaner inlet duct and air cleaner
Remove throttle linkage
Remove accessory drive belts
Remove power brake vacuum hose at intake manifold
Remove exhaust pipe from manifold
Remove power steering pump assembly
Disconnect coil pack wiring and remove coil pack
Remove cylinder head cover
Remove cam sensor and fuel injector wiring
Remove intake manifold (this is a separate 20-step procedure)
Remove timing belt and camshaft sprocket
Remove rocker arm shaft assemblies
Remove cylinder head bolts

I can't be sure if this addresses your question or not. I haven't worked on this engine/vehicle so can't speak from first hand experience.
