Chrysler Repair: Radio/Nav unit Chry 300c 05, diagnostic capability, battery cables

Question
For some reason I cannot change from AM to FM or CD on my unit, and the Nav is out.  Presets are the only buttons that work. Tune knob doesnt work and none of the steering wheel buttons work either except volume.  Brand new battery, left lights on and got a jump from AAA and  everything turned on worked fine until after I shut car off and restarted, then back to just AM.  Can u help?

Hi Ron,
These units have a diagnostic capability using a scan tool. I would seek such a diagnostic trouble code and then we can see what the fix is for that specific problem. The system is digitized as far as internal communication is concerned so you need to use that approach. If you get a fault code let me know.
You could try a 'soft reset' which means to disconnect both battery cables and touch one to the other for 30 seconds. I have no specific experience with whether that might work but give it a try.
