i changed the distributor on my seabring 2.5l and dose not want to stay on or idle rite is my timming off and how do you set it it is a 1998 covertable

Hi Jose,
The timing is not adjustable, it is controlled by the computer. So something else is wrong. What was it that caused you to change the distributor? Are you sure the spark plug wires are in the cap in the proper order 624531? Try the ignition key for fault codes:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less. Then watch the check engine light, which remains "on", to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes after each pause. Then repeat the process to be sre to get an accurate count. Then let me know the counts in order of appearance. If that doesn't work then borrow a code reader and plug it in under the dash where there is a socket by the steering column. Let me know the codes and we'll go from there. Is this a coupe of a convert?
