Questionhi roland ,i am having issues with trans ,replaced shift sol pack and relearned tcm 6m ago after solonoid pack failed ,ran good ,now when i am coming to a stop ,it seems like the torque converter isnt disengaging,it just about stalls the engine and seems to downshift hard,i also am getting a surge on hard accell ,170,000 km on van ,no diag codes in odometer readout,i noticed if van is driven in city with shifter in 3rd gear it will not act up ,i have had tcc problems on other cars but it usually does stall the engine when tcc does not release,so i am not convinced totally,as soon as i am just about stopped ,the rpm dips down hard and i feel trans malfunction in downshift,the trans has always shifted goofy on this van ,harsh downshifts occasionally ,the typical issues with this trans ,any suggestions would be appreciated,thanks ,darc

I would suggest that you get a fault code readout which will perhaps narrow the possibilities and give some direction. An Autozone parts store will ofter do if for free, or an independent garage for under $40. Let me know the 4-digit numbers that come out and we can go from there.
