Chrysler Repair: oil pump failure? 3.2/3.5L, pressure relief valve, xerox copy

Question
ok i have one more question about my 2004 concorde.  i finally got the pan out and was able to check the oil screen in there and it was not plugged.  so does that mean my oil pump went bad?????

Answer
Hi Otto,
It may be that the oil pressure relief valve failed, and you can disassemble that and check it out now that you have the oil pan off. I can xerox copy and postal mail you the page that shows how to do that from the '04 manual. Let me know a postal mailing address. Otherwise it means a lot of disassembly to service the oil pump. You haven't given me the history of the oil pressure problem so I can only guess that your oil pressure is low/nil but under what circumstances and for how long did the engine run?
