Chrysler Repair: Cant get harmonic balancer off Stratus: 2.4L, couple teeth, autozone

Question
I'm in the process of taking the car apart again since I put the timing belt on a couple teeth off and now I'm stuck at the balancer again. I'm using the same puller from Autozone as last time. The rod last time seemed to be about 1/2-1 mm to short to fully seperate the HB from the crank but I was able to pry it off. The HB still has plenty of room from the frame.

This time the HB is stuck! I have already bottomed out the top bolt on the puller, so the puller can't pull it any further. I've also used every long tool I have to try and pry it the last millimeter with no luck. I did find an extended push rod online but I have no idea if it will be longer than the one that came with the puller I rented. This is the extended rod I bought, http://store.autotoolexpress.com/sch97400a.html

I've already messed up the back of the HB where the power steering belt goes. Ever run into this before, or maybe have any tips or tricks I can try.

Car is a 2001 Stratus, 2.4 DOHC sedan

Thanks

Answer
Hi Tom,
The factory manual show the use of a Miller Tool 8454 Puller (and a bolt extending Insert 6827A) which has 3 arms that pull on the inner openings (slots) of the the HB rather than the outer edge. That is a Chrysler-endorsed tool so you might want to try to find one of those. The only other idea I have would be to lube the surface of the crank and turn the HB back on the crank with the bolt in hopes that the friction would be less when you then try to pull it off again.

PS Sorry for the delay but you question just appeared in the 'pool' to which it had been referred by the other expert, Kevin.
