Chrysler Repair: Contd Transmission Problems., solenoid pack, transmission control module

Question
I only read it once. Codes are P0732, P1782, P1784, P0700. My understanding is if the TCM isn't picking up from these sensors, the Transmission isn't going to work. Also the Torque Converter came with the Transmission. I would really appreciate any help you have.
Thanks
Dan

Answer
Hi Dan,
I suggested as I did, to 'clear' the tcm memory and ask for new codes after serveral attempts to put it in gear, because I thought the codes you read may have been stale codes resulting from the failure of the previous transmission. About the only reason, if the torque converter is working, for there to be no movement at all when you have fluid in the trans is that there is internal damage or a major problem with the valve body/solenoid pack (which is suggested as possible causes by the codes if they are correct) OR that the wiring from the transmission range sensor plug to the transmission control module plug is faulty either in not having all wires patent or wires are reversed such that the tcm can't make 'sense' of what it is receiving from the range sensor. I can imagine that if the open/closed pattern of range switch positions was faulty the tcm might not know what to do and thus not take the necessary steps to apply the clutches at all. Because of the wiring issues you described with that plug I offer this possibility but have no proof.
The pressure switch fault codes could possibly be due to their circuits being faulty, if that is what you mean by 'not picking up', so indeed the 1782 and 1784 codes have to be fixed, and the 0732 is saying it doesn't like the readings from the two speed sensors (without saying exactly what it doesn't like). But even with these 3 codes the transmission would move the vehicle in reverse and in 2nd gear, rather than not moving it at all. So it has to be something beyond the speed and pressure sensors and those somethings in my view are the torque converter or the range sensor wiring.
My suspicion is that the used transmission is no good and you would probably do well to try and return it and look for another one. I know that is alot of work but things just don't look hopeful unless you were to find a wiring error in the range sensor plug. Let me know if you don't have those wire color/pin assigments for the plug.

PS Thanks for your kind remarks in your earlier ratings, and of the nominations you have given me for volunteer of the month.
