Chrysler Repair: solenoid pack location: 00 Sebring, chrysler sebring convertible, transmission oil cooler

Question
Where is the location of solenoid pack on a 2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible and how to remove and replace it. Trans shop wants to charge me a arm and a leg so I'm doing it myself.

Answer
Hi Edith,
It is a box-like module on the side of the transmission that faces the front of the vehicle. It has a couple of oil lines and other items that have to be disconnecte, but then remove its three bolts and up it comes along with a gasket. You have to remove the air cleaner to see it.  Here are the details.
Disconnect - post battery clamp.
Remove air cleaner assembly
Remove the transmission control module (the inboard-most module just behind the radiator and next to the power distribution fuse/relay box)
Lift tab and remove plug from trans input speed sensor directly above the solenoid pack box, then unscrew the input speed sensor itself
Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines and plug holes to prevent loss/dirt located above the solenoid pack
Disconnect 8-way plug on top of solenoid pack after removing the screw
Remove the three bolts on the rear top side of the solenoid pack
Remove the pack and its gasket
Install is the reverse.
Use a new gasket
Torque three bolts to 9 foot-pounds
Torque speed sensor to 20 foot-pounds (about the same as a spark plug is torqued)
