Chrysler Repair: 01 minivan: radio/power windows out following battery charge, check fuse, resettable fuse

Question
QUESTION: My battery was recently recharged after going dead, my radio does not work now. The lights are blinking on the equalizer buttons but that is it. Also, my windows no longer roll down, how do I go about getting those fixed, if that is possible..Thank you for your time.

ANSWER: Hi Melissa,
Probably a fuse has blown but to tell you which one(s) to check I need to know the year/make/model/body style you have. Send me a follow-up question with that information and we'll go from there.

Answer
Hi Melissa,
Here is your original problem: My battery was recently recharged after going dead, my radio does not work now. The lights are blinking on the equalizer buttons but that is it. Also, my windows no longer roll down, how do I go about getting those fixed, if that is possible..Thank you for your time.

On the radio, there are a couple of fuses in the box under the hood near the battery (numbers 5 and 14) that should be visually inspected to see if blown, and on the power windows check fuse 28 in the same box. It is hard to describe where 5 is, but look to see any fuse numberings. Fuse 14 is the front most fuse on the fender side of the box and is located next to a relay that is described as 'name brand speaker relay'. Fuse 28 is the most rearward on the engine side of the box.
There is one common feature that is shared by the radio and the windows. In the cabin, under the dash and just in front of the brake pedal arm there is a circuit breaker (basically a resettable fuse, that is powered by fuse 28) which has a switch of the bottom which if moved to the opposite position may in fact re-power the power window system. And right next to that is box with a plug that connects the radio to the speakers. It that plug had come out of the box, the radio would appear to work but you wouldn't get any sound. So if that might be the problem I would look at the same place where you find the circuit breaker for the power windows to see if there is a disconnected plug hanging there and if so plug it back in to the nearest socket that will accept it.
Please let me know what you learn/find.
