Chrysler Repair: 2002 Sebring wont start, 4 digit numbers, starter motor

Question
Hi I need some help, I have 2002 sebring convertible it has 44k on it red light in left bottom corner of cluster is on and odometer starts reading no bus after trying to start the car no response at all what can i do?

Answer
Hi Serge,
The red light will be on until the engine starts and runs, but we do need to get rid of the 'bus message on the odometer (see below).
If you mean no response at all, i.e., no starter motor action, then try moving the gear shifter slightly off center from the P or N position as the safety switch may be out of adjustment and then try to start it. If still no action then open the power box under the hood where the fuses are and have a helper try the starter while you listen/feel for the starter motor relay inside the box to click when he tries the key. If it does and nothing happens with the starter motor then you may have a too weak battery and you need a jump start or to charge the battery. If it doesn't click then we have a problem with the digital data 'bus' that you said is showing in the odometer window as a message.
The message could either mean that the connection from the bus to the cluster is not good, or that there is really something wrong with the 'bus'. Try tapping on the dash above the instrument cluster to see if you can get rid of the 'bus' message. If you can that way, then try turning the ignition key 'on-off-on-off-on and leave on' doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer to see if it shows and 4-digit numbers which would be clues as to why it won't start. Let me know the numbers and we'll go from there.
