Chrysler Repair: 94 Chrysler Concorde will not start., chrysler concorde, straight pins

Question
I have a four door, 3.5L, 94 Chrysler Concorde that will crank but will not start. The battery and alternator checked out fine. I tried the on, off, on off, on code thing and it flashed 1 paused than 3 times, a long pause than 5 times, paused and flashed 5 more times. Is there anyway you can help me figure out what the problem is?

Answer
Hi Darryl,
The 1 and 3 make a 13 code which says that the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor is apparently not responding to the difference in pressure between when the engine is at rest and when it is idling which suggests that it is not functioning or the signal/ground/voltage supply wires are some how not connected or properly connected. You could verify the harness connections to the engine controller (located under the air filter housing) as follows: violet/white wire goes to pin goes to pin 6 and should show 5 volts when the ignition is 'on'; black/light blue goes to pin 4 and is a reference ground; and the dark green/red goes to pin 1 and is the signal itself which should be around 4.6v at rest, and noticeably lower (around 3v) when the engine is idling. All those pins are at the 60-pin plug of the controller. If you find the electrical connections to be ok then replacing the MAP sensor would be warranted. You can measure the voltage of the signal by inserting fine straight pins into the connector so as to touch the internal contacts for the violet/white and black/light blue wires and then attaching your voltmeter to those pins. the MAP is located on the driver side of the intake manifold on the edge of the manifold. The 3-wire plug is near by for checking out the connections and voltages.
The 5 and 5 make a code 55 which merely corroborates that all the codes that are stored have been readout.
