Chrysler Repair: 96 Chrysler Sebring: no start, chrysler sebring, wifes car

hey roland,
my wifes car quit wlile going down interstate at 70 mph.
it turns over but won,t start.
any ideas what to check?

Hi Mike,
The quickest way to find out is to use the ignition key to get any fault codes that are stored in the engine controller that will point to what is wrong: "On-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat the process to verify an accurate set of flash counts. Then tell me the counts in the order that they appeared and we'll go from there. The last two count sets will always be 5 in each, which is code for 'end of readout'. Also, listen for whether you hear the fuel pump run for about 1 second inside the fuel tank when you first turn the key to run; it should do that.
