Chrysler Repair: 04 Sebring LXi: ignition switch dead, amp fuses, blown fuse

Question
When I turn the key the car does not turn on. There is no clicking or cranking of the motor.  It just seems dead.  I replaced the battery but the only thing that works are the headlights and windows.  I checked the radio and blinkers but they were not working either.

Answer
Hi Eddie,
Take a look in the power distribution box under the hood (fuses and relays, located on the driver side against the inner fender just in front of the strut tower) and find fuses 8 and 10  which are in the front row, both small fuses. Counting from the driver's side there are 7 large fuse sockets (1-7) and the 4 smaller (8-11). Both 8 and 10 are 20 amp fuses and they are needed to operate the ignition switch functions. See if either is blown. If so, let me know which, and if you want to try it replace the blown fuse or wait until I can tell you what might be causing the fuse to blow before trying a new fuse.
