Chrysler Repair: 2005 T & C Van: Cluster gauges in-operative/warning lights on, transmission controller, connector plug

Question
I have spoken to you prior to this email regarding all warning lights on and gauges inoperable.  You had me check codes and here are the codes
100.0
100.1
100.2
100.3
100.5
200.7
Thank you John

Answer
Hi John,
Those basically are telling you that none of the digital information about the abs system, body computer related systems, transmission related systems, occupant retraint systems, and of course gauge input data, and a mismatch of some sort regarding the transmission controller... are going on together. That smacks of a disconnect of the violet/white pci bus wire (the digital communication common connection to all those other modules) either at the cluster, or at the diagnostic juction port or the data link connector plug (under the dash by the steering column) which that wire passes througn on its way to the cluster.
I suspect that the cluster is your problem: most likely I believe is that the solder joint between pin 9 of the plug socket at the cluster and the circuit board proper is 'cold' and thus no digital data ia getting to the cluster. That has been in the past the most common cause for instrument cluster problems. If you have a soldering gun you can remove the cluster and heat up the joint so as re-melt the solder, and also follow the trace on the board to any of its connections and reheat those as well. The other plugs I mentioned would be suspect if, for example, you tried to have a fault code readout and could not get one out. But absent that result I would focus on the cluster itself. So those are the approaches that I would recommend.
