Chrysler Repair: Blown engine rod in 1994 Town & Country, blue book value, blown engine

Question
My engine took a big dump on me this morning.  It had to be towed to the nearest repair shop.  I have bene informed there is no oil in the engine.  It may have blown an engine rod.  I need to know the approximate cost to repair.  And, if it would even be worth it considering the Blue Book value on the van

Answer
The race for "expert of the month" is going down to the wire.
Chrysler "repairer" vs Microsoft "coder".

May I ask a favor of you? I am seeking the recognition of being the 'volunteer of the month' at Allexperts. To do that I need your nomination which you can give by clicking on the "Thank/rate the expert" button below. That will take you to a page where you will see the question "Would you like to nominate the expert to be volunteer of the month?" If you would click on "yes" I would be most appreciative.

Hi DeNiece,
If that is the case, it will be expensive to repair. I don't know the cost as I don't run a shop, and of course exactly what is the extent of the damage has to be known. A used engine from a minivan that was given up to a wrecking yard because of a failed transmission might be something to consider. Often when the trans goes they van goes because it costs $2,000 or so to repair. So the engine could still be good.
