Chrysler Repair: Thermostat location: 3.5L, heater hoses, pressure switches

Question
Where is the thermostat located on a 99 Chrysler 300

Answer
I am competing to be 'expert of the month' and need your vote of confidence.
The race for "expert of the month" is going down to the wire.
Chrysler "repairer" vs. Microsoft "coder".
One vote per each answer is permitted.
Click on "Thank/rate" button below, then click on "Yes" for nomination.
Deadline to vote is Thursday, 4 PM CT.
Thanks

Hi Matthew,
Is the thermostat OK now? If you would like to tell me there is a "Thank/rate the expert" button below which if you click will take you to page where you can "comment".
May I also ask a favor? On that same page you will see the question "Would you like to nominate this expert to be 'volunteer of the month"? If you will click on "Yes" that would be appreciated.  I am competing for that recognition which is based on nominations from questioners like yourself. Achieving it will increase awareness of the Chrysler repair category.

Hi Matthew,
The thermostat housing is located close to the oil filter (above and to the left, about 10 o'clock). Here are the steps to changing it out:
Disconnect - jumper post wire (I would consider that optional)
Drain cooling system
Raise vehicle
Remove connectors from nearby oil pressure and power steering pressure switches
Remove radiator and heater hoses from thermostat housing
Remove housing bolts
Remove housing, bolts, and gasket

Clean gasket interfacing surfaces, Use new gasket, Install thermostat so bleed hole is at 12 o'clock
Tighten bolts to 105 inch-pounds.

Of course you have to drain out the coolant, and refill it properly when done, using a filler funnel that allow the air to escape from the reservoir bottle as you fill it, and clamp the overflow hose so as not to fill the overflow chamber of the bottle.
