Chrysler Repair: 1996 Grand Caravan 3.3L stalls or dies in hot weather with no codes, dodge grand caravan, 1996 grand caravan

Question
I have a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan with over 130K.  In hot weather (85F or over) it will stall (die if you are at low RPMs) and never sends a code.  In fact, it won't even disrupt the cruise control.  New battery.  No other symptoms, no codes but (and it may be unrelated# last night the battery light came on but i suspect it may be the alt as the stalling has been going on for the last two summers and is getting worse.  I will check out the alt this morning.  what do you think? sensor#s), ecm, tranny computer?  i am willing to try anything as i have had it to the shop %26 on the computer with no luck and it did stall while it was hooked up to the computer.  any ideas?

Answer
Hi Doug,
I would check the resistance of the coolant temp sensor located next to the thermostat housing. When cold it should read 7-13,000 ohms across its terminals and when warm 700-1,000 ohms. Then verify the connections from the plug to the pcm: the tan/black goes to pin 2, the black/light blue to pin 4. It may be inaccurate but not so much as to set a fault code.
