Chrysler Repair: 2006 Town and Country Cabin Air Filter, chrysler town and country, cabin air filter

Question
I have a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country Touring and am trying to figure out if it has the cabin air filter. From what I have found so far, I see the 10"x1" slot behind the glove box where the filter should be, but there is no way to change the filter without dissassembling the whole thing. On the 10"x1" cover it has a tab that is about 1/2" long, but there is nothing else I can find that will release the cover. Any assistance would be appreciated.

it would be under the dash  not behind the glove box.

REMOVAL

1. Locate the air filter door on the bottom of the lower front HVAC housing just outboard of the passenger side of the instrument panel center stack Fig. 1 .
2. Slide the air filter door latch toward the rear of the vehicle until it engages the opened stop on the door.
3. Pull the air filter door straight downward to disengage it from the air filter opening of the HVAC housing.
4. Use your fingers to reach through the air filter opening of the HVAC housing far enough to grasp the particulate air filter.
5. Pull the particulate air filter straight down and out of the HVAC housing
