Chrysler Repair: P1391 Code, creader, cam sensor

Question
I have a 2001 Sebring with a 2.7 engine. It has started to hiccup while at a stop, driving slow or sometimes at 60 miles an hour. It has actually died twice but started right back up. It still has a lot of power but when we put the Creader on it the code read 1391. Unfortunately the book was messed up and we could not get what the code meant. Could you explain the code from the Creader.

Answer
Hi Phil,
That code says that either the crank or cam sensor is intermittent. Unfortunately it doesn't say which. You might wait until it fails for a longer time period (it will usually recover in a few minutes as it cools down) and then read whether you have a 0340 (cam) or an 0320 (crank) failure and act accordingly. I doubt that until it progresses to regularly dieing out that you will have an easy way to diagnose which it is.
