Chrysler Repair: cruise control, cruise control module, brake light switch

Question
My cruise control stops working while i am driving in 2006 Chrysler Sebring what could it be?

Answer
Hi Tonya,
It could be the fuse that power the circuit for the control. See if your owner's manual lists which fuse that is, and if not then check fuse #7 in the box under the dash which is what my '03 manual shows. I am not sure if any change in the wiring occured between '03 and '06.
Another possibility is that a vacuum hose that connects the intake manifold to the cruise control module is cracked or disconnected.
Another possibility is that your brake light switch may be out of adjustment such that your brake light are 'on' even though you aren't steping in the pedal. Take a look at the rear of the car when it is running but parked.
And finally the flexible wires between the steering wheel and the steering column is broken, called the 'clockspring'.
