Chrysler Repair: 98 3.0 Water pump instalation, inlet pipe, water inlet

I am confused.. I haven't removed old pump yet but the directions that I got from autozone it talks about pressing the pump over water inlet pipe after new rubber seal is installed but I don't see any hole on the pump for a pipe to fit into. The pump has a couple of channels and an impeller on the side that faces the engine. does the water pipe fit over the center of the impeller. I look forward to your feedback. Jerry Compo

Hi Jerry,
Yes, the large hole roughly in the center of the back side fits over the pipe that comes in from between the banks of cylinders. Just wet the new o-ring with water (not grease or oil).
