Chrysler Repair: trouble getting AC part for my T&C, leaky hose, discharge line

Question
I purchased a 2008 Town and Country used a few months ago.  It has 12,000 miles left on the warranty.  I recently noticed that the AC was not working.  I took it to my local dealer and they found that it had a leaky hose.  They said they needed to order the part, and it was on back order but should be in in a few days. It will be covered under the warranty.  It has now been four weeks and they said they can't tell me when the part will be available.   Is this a common problem?  What is a realisic amount of time to wait for a part?  Do I have any options.

I am worried that I will be driving my young family around this summer in a van without AC!!

Answer
The ac line in question is the discharge line and yes they are on back order  I have done about 20 so far and each one is from 3 to 4 weeks to get it in. U can wait until they get one is  or u can charge the ac system up yourself and see how long it will last.
