Chrysler Repair: 99 300m blower motor only runs on high, distribution unit, wrecking yard

Question
My blower does not work. It stays on all the time. The switch that changes the speed at which the flow is set, has been changed twice and still no change.  I can pull the fuse and it stops but when I need in on low I can't change anything unless I put the fuse back in.

Answer
Hi Melissa,
The problem is not the switch but rather the module that responds to the switch by putting out different voltages for the speeds that you select. It is on the duct just to the left of the blower motor housing which is under the dash at the far right end of the a.c./heater distribution unit. If you first locate the blower (by sound if necessary) notice it has a twisted wire that comes out of it and those go directly to the module. You unscrew two screws on either side of the plug socket at that point and the module will drop out. It is called either a "blower power module" if you have the Automatic temp control unit, or the blower resistor block if you have the conventional temp control unit. You can get a replacement at a dealer, wrecking yard, or perhaps a parts store.
