Chrysler Repair: starter switch: 2002 chrysler minivan, chrysler minivan, chrysler voyager

Question
how difficult is it to replace a starter switch on a 2002 Chrysler voyager with an
alarm system. also is it difficult replacing front and rear shocks?

Answer
Hi Samuel,
If you mean the ignition switch (electrical part, as opposed to the lock cylinder/skim antenna) that is fairly straightforward so long as you have the instructions for getting to it and removal/replacement. The front strut (technical name for the shock) is not too bad either with instruction, but you will need a coil spring clamp/compressor for the job. It is about 15 steps in and 15 out but it can be done as well. The rear shock is very easy, nothing too complex but as with the front you would want to have jack stands. A torque wrench would be very useful to get the proper tightening torque on all the nuts and bolts.
I am basing this on the '98 manual which is the latest I have and assuming that it didn't change before '02.
I could xerox copy and postal mail you all the pages that cover the job. It costs me 10 cents per side plus the postage, and you could send me back the equivalent in 42-cent stamps after you received the pages. There might be 12 to 16 pages total.
