Chrysler Repair: sebring 2.7 v6, 2002 repair, licensed mechanic, chrysler dealer

Question
Hi,my mechanic changed the water pump and the timing chain kit, all being upgraded version (sebring 2002, 2.7v6). He aligned the chain as the signs shows, triple checked this, but the engine doesn't start, the starter is turning it. He's a licensed mechanic but never done this for a sebring before. He followed up all the steps specified ino repair software, he checked the computers errors, nothing wrong. Looks that isn't ignition, but is fuel on the sparks. He believes that is something wrong with the kit, even was bought from a chrysler dealer, because before the car was running well.Could you help me, please...

Answer
Hi Dorin,
I am not familiar with the specifics of the "upgraded version". Does the upgrade have anything to do with the ignition or fuel systems, or is it just about the cooling/timing chain aspects?  Also I am not clear about "...he checked the computers errors, nothing wrong. Looks that isn't ignition, but is fuel on the sparks. He believes that is something wrong with the kit,..." Does that mean there are no fault code numbers recorded in the engine controller memory?  Is he getting spark or not. Is the fuel pressure up to spec while cranking (58 psi)? Just in case of an error of some sort has he checked the compression pressure of one of the cylinders? Does he hear the injectors clicking when cranking? If there are no fault codes, has he checked that the egr valve isn't stuck ajar. And of course verify that every electrical connector that was opened up was reconnected.
Those are some possible items. I have an '03 shop manual is he needs any of the pages. Let me know if something comes up.
