Chrysler Repair: 97 neon, pcm, 1l

Question
I have bought a 97 Neon (Plymouth) 2.1L 4 cyl. the fan is on a switch in the dash and I have been told that the computer is the wrong kind to switch the fan on at temp. the MIL stays on. I have not read the code myself but i was told that the PCM is from a 95, the engine runs great but I am concerned if this is a serious problem or even if it is all lies, is this a feasible scenario? thanks you - Paul

Answer
get the codes first  it will more then likely be rad fan relay something or the other.
more then likely need a new relay and what ever some one did to hack the wiring.
lastly a 95 PCM will not work with a 97  so I doubt it 100% that its not a wrong pcm.
part numbers for a 95  96 and 97 are all different which means the software for each one is different  and they wont run each other.
