Chrysler Repair: Turn Signal/Hazard flasher problem: 97 LHS, 1997 chrysler lhs, chrysler lhs

Question
I have a 1997 Chrysler LHS that has turn signals, and hazard lights, that stopped working.

I have read, and tried, most solutions with no results. I tried replacing the flasher under the dash. I replaced the #3 fuse. I even checked the hazard flasher relay under the hood... All with no results. I'm stuck, and in NEED your help!

Answer
Hi Justin,
Have you been checking for voltage with a voltmeter? If not, that would be good to do. But first, have you checked fuse F1 in the power distribution center under the hood? It is 20 amp and next to the fuel pump relay. Check to see that it shows voltage on both sides of the fuse. That is the feed for the hazard flasher and if it is working and you replaced the combo flasher, then I would believe that the hazard flasher part of the combination switch is bad. I don't see a hazard flasher relay in that underhood box, please describe it.
Have you checked for voltage on fuse #3 behind the dash when the ignition is in the run position? If you have that, and you replaced the combo flasher then I would suspect the turn signal part of the combination switch is bad. The "backbone" of the combo switch services both the hazards and the turns. If that were faulty or corroded, then both kinds of lights would not work. Try spraying some electronic circuit cleaner in that switch to possibly clean up the internal contacts. I can give you the continuity tests for the pins of that switch if you  have either an ohmmeter or a continuity checker. Have you removed the steering column covers (after removing the tilt lever) to check that the plug into that multi-function switch is seated firmly in its socket?
So those are some ideas for you to pursue.

Hi Justin,
I was wondering how things worked out with the lights? Please let me know by using the 'thank/rate' tab below. While you are there, if I might ask a favor: where it asks about a 'nomination for expert of the month' I would appreciate your entering a 'yes'. I am in a close race for that honor so every vote counts!
Thanks,
