Chrysler Repair: 91 C,Y,-body electrical problem: daytime running lamp, amp fuse, daytime running lights

Question
QUESTION: 1991 dynasty 3.3l i have no park lights, dash lights, power door locks, cigar lighter.when key is off,drl still on,have to pull relay.require fusible link location and/or wiring diagram          long days and pleasant nights,Robert

ANSWER: Hi Robert,
Many if not all of the things that you say are not functional are powered by the 50 amp fuse in the power distribution center labelled park lamps. So start there. There is only one fusible link in the car and that is associated with the alternator circuit.
Do I understand correctly, that you can't turn off the driving lights? Is this a Canadian sold vehicle with daytime running lights and is it those that won't turn off? See what happens when you get the other things running. That 50 amp fuse feeds fuses 13, 14, and 16 in the fuse box in the cabin.

QUESTION: replaced fuse, everything fine except daytime running lights are still on when key is off.canadian vehicle.is there a way to disable the drl lights and still have regular lights.thank you for your input, robert

Answer
Hi Robert,
I am pleased to learn of the improved situation.
On the DRL, I took a quick look through the wiring diagrams and the electrical system manual for '91 and have identified the DRL module to be mounted in the left fender wheel well (which doesn't sound like too safe a space for it but it could be on the engine compartment side of the well). Have you considered replacing that module(new or from a wreck)? At the minimum it would be good to locate it and clean the plug and socket for it. It has an 8-plug connector that is black in color. It has live 12V on the red wire, which might be shorted across to another pin. I suspect that if you unplug it that the there will be something wrong with the normal headlamp system, but give that a try.
I am searching for an explanation of the function of the DRL circuit, and if I can't find it I should be able to compare the US to the Canadian circuit and perhaps figure out a work-around. So let's both work on this and see where we can go with it.
Thanks so much for the nomination. If I find something I will get back to you, and please do likewise to me.
