Chrysler Repair: 03 3.5L dark green/light green engine wire, spark coils, amp fuse

Question
while checking the trans. fluid i noticed a dark gn w/ lite grn wire hanging near the dipstick tube smoking. when I tried to move it away from the ground strap, it shorted out and popped the 20 amp fuse for the inj/coil. after 2 days of looking and searching the internet, I cannot find anything about this wire and what it plugs up to. I have replaced the fuse and the car will not stay running when started. I hope that is enough info for you and I hope it is something that you can help me with. thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Tony,
That wire is indeed part of the power source for the injectors and the spark plug coils. Because the engine is evidentally running well there are three other items that are also on that wire to investigate. Two of them are capacitors which are found along the dark green/light green wire that runs along the sides of the engine (one on each side) and feeds the spark coils (they are probably round cylindrical devices with a single wire on them and are attached to the head, probably near the middle spark plug on each side). I suspect though that the wire you found is supposed to be attacked to the 'manifold turning valve' which is mounted on the intake manifold directly at the mid-line of the engine on the front of the manifold (just behind the radiator). It is round and its plug has two wires, the dark green/light green and violet/red wire. So take a look for those possibilities.
