Chrysler Repair: 98 Sebring convert: power locks, trunk release, chrysler sebring convertible, chrysler sebring convertible top

Question
I have a 1998 Chrysler sebring convertible top, my passenger door has been sending a signal to my car saying that the door is open when it is not so every 2 min my mirror light keeps blinking like the door is open and making that door open sound every time I am driving, so I got frustrated and took my mirror off not even realizing that it is a heated mirror and when I took it off my radio stop working and my locks stop working, my trunk would not pop from the inside, I have to use my key to get in the car or open my trunk. Also when I plug the mirror back in the lights will not come on. Did I blow a fuse under the hood or is it a wiring problem? I already looked at the fuse box inside the car and nothing was blown there.

Answer
Hi Kimberly,
I believe that fuse #4 and the circuit breaker in the #18 slot, both in the fuse box under the dash, are your problem. The fuse should be checked and if blown replaced, the circuit breaker may be just a matter of flipping a small lever on it. So check those again. If either still blows then you need to recheck the mirror connection that you handled for a possible short circuit of a wire there.
To stop the signaling that the door is open you need to move the door latch stiker in the door frame for whichever door is too loosely latched. Try pushing outward on either door, from inside the car with the ignition "on", to see which door causes the signal to occur. Then move the striker pin for the latch in-board a bit so that the door is more firmly pressing against the door frame opening when it is closed.
