I have removed the oil filter but the muffler is stopping me from removing the starter any tips?

Hi Xavier,
I can give you the procedure for the convertible with 2.5L V-6:
Remove the - post battery remote at the strut tower
Remove the oil filter
Remove + cable from starter motor
Remove solenoid connector
Remove the three bolts from the starter to trans housing

That doesn't sound very different from what you have done. Do you have a different engine, or a sedan body? If so, let me know.
