I am seeking your assistance with the following codes.  Can u also please let me know where on the car would i locate the problems.   P0171 - Fuel sys-lean and P0118 ECT SEN/CIRC.  Thanks in advance.

P0171 - Fuel sys-lean means the computer is reading lean on the engine.  This could be dirty injectors so get some fuel injector cleaner like Lucas.  Or, the oxygen sensor could be coated and in need of replacement.  Clean the fuel system first before you invest in oxygen sensors.  Also, make sure there are no vacuum leaks like loose hoses or defective gaskets.

P0118 ECT is the engine coolant temperature sensor.  This is easy.  Replace the temperature sensor on the engine.  rockauto.com or courtesyparts.com are both good sources.

Do these and then disconnect the battery for five minutes to clear the codes.  If the lean code comes back replace the oxygen sensors.
