Chrysler Repair: 2006 Pacifica: ABS, which wheel sensor?, brake warning light, tone wheel

Question
The anti-lock brake warning light is on. The dealer says that one of the sensors is bad but that all sensors will have to be replaced. Is that correct? If only one is bad why should all sensors have to be replaced?

Answer
Hi Garry,
You are being taken for a "ride"! The Diagnostic Reader gets a specific message as to which wheel's sensor is bad, so don't accept this work order. Take the vehicle somewhere else.
Once someone get a specific code:
Ask which wheel's sensor is bad based on the code reader. You may find that the tone wheel groves which is what the sensor look's at  only need to be cleaned out rather than having to replace the sensor. Other owners have reported this sort of a fix rather than replacing the sensor. This is something you could try yourself and save all the labor costs. If it doesn't work then do the sensor.
