Chrysler Repair: 99 concorde, negative battery cable, shaft position

Question
QUESTION: Hi my 99 Concorde does not seem to want to go to defrost setting on panel switch. Floor and recycle seem to be okay. I have recently replaced the blower capacitor. I am wandering if I should check for a vacuum conection or if there is some sort of deflector assembly that should be lubed? Thank You

ANSWER: there is no vac any more  it all done with motors.

QUESTION: Sorry I live in Canada too far away for either of us. I do know it works with motors as I have had it apart. Everything seems to be turning as I can feel and see it working. I think something must be blocking the door. How do you get at the door assembly on this thin?
Thanks for your reply!

Answer
possible broken door   here is the stuff to the motor.

MODE DOOR ACTUATOR
The mode door actuator is an electric motor. It mechanically positions the A/C unit panel/bi-level door and the floor/defrost door. This actuator contains a feedback strip which allows the computer control to know the exact position of the mode door at all times. The mode door actuator is not serviceable and must be replaced if found to be defective.

The mode door actuator is located on the lower left side of the HVAC unit housing Mode Door Actuator Location

REMOVAL
Open hood and disconnect the negative battery cable remote terminal from the remote battery post Negative Battery Cable Remote Terminal
Remove left and right underpanel ducts.
Remove floor console.
Remove center floor heat adaptor duct.
Remove rear seat heat forward adaptor duct.
Loosen center support bracket and pry rearward to gain access to the actuator.
Remove actuator retaining screws. Then pull actuator straight down. Upon removal, note the shaft position of the actuator, because the shaft on this motor is keyed. When installing new actuator, its shaft must be positioned in the same location.
Remove electrical connection on actuator.
INSTALLATION
For installation, reverse the above procedures.
