Chrysler Repair: 95 Chrysler T&C 3.8L, code 11, crank shaft position sensor, shaft position

Question
I saw your answer for the code 11 on a 97 neon being a crank shaft position sensor. Where would that be on a 95 Chrysler T&C with a 3.8L engine?

Answer
Hi Buddy,
That sensor is located on the backside to the seam between the engine and transmission because it "looks" at the flex plate that couples those two units. You will find it just above the top surface of the transaxle housing (which has a ribbed outer surface) on the side of the powertrain that is close to the firewall. It has a three-wire connector (orange, black/light blue, gray/violet) and when you install the new one be sure to leave the paper spacer on its tip, and press the tip against the surface of the flexplate inside the hole (but not visible), then tighten the retaining screw to keep it in that position.
