Chrysler Repair: 2000 3.2 concorde idle problem, purge solenoid, question pool

Question
Car will not idle with throttle body vacuum hose connected.
Bought used found said hose disconnected while changing plugs(due to hard starting/good running situation).
When connected car will not idle(stalls quickly, runs fine when disconnected) checked proportional purge solenoid: it works when 12v applied, no valtage at 2-wire connector when ignition is on or when car is running. I am not a tech
so I don't have a code reader. Any ideas"
 Thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Mike,
My suggestion would be to get a code readout at an Autozone parts store (often free) or an independent shop (around $40). The feedback systems are such that the engine controller can make up for a hose disconnect as you describe, but there is an underlying problem that may be revealed by a code readout. The purge solenoid is not powered during cold warm up or hot starts time delay period, and it is a 200 Hz voltage which may not be detected by your voltmeter in any case.
Sorry for the delay; your question just appeared on the question "pool" today. Let me know if you get any codes for possible evaluation.
