Hi Jeremy,
The best way to find the solution is to get a fault code readout of the engine controller memory using the socket that is under the dash adjacent to the steering column. Many Autozone parts stores will give you a readout for free. Or an independent shop will do it for under $40. Try to get the 4-digit fault code numbers, what they mean, what they recommend doing, and at what cost. Then write me back, using the "thank/rate" tab below so as to not have to wait for me to be "available" and tell me what you have learned. We can go from there. Also tell me which engine you have.
