Chrysler Repair: 2000 sebring harmonic balancer, steel post, keyway

My harmonic balancer just fell off. I have not got it to a shop yet, everything looks in good shape.  I was wondering it looks like it had a little steel post to keep it in place like a keyway but round that goes into the balancer, or is the whole in the harmonic balancer there for another reason..Just was wondering if I can put it back on and tighten down..  thanks Jon

Hi Jon,
You didn't mention which engine you have, so I can't be specific. The balancer is typically also called the crankshaft dampfer and it appears to be a single unit that cannot be repaired. But you could check with a dealer parts counter to see what they say.
