Chrysler Repair: Replacing the Water Pump: 2.4L, cam shaft, plymouth breeze

Question
QUESTION: What is the best/easiest way to go about replacing the water pump on a 1999 Plymouth Breeze? I am also replacing the starter. I have done quite a bit of work on cars before but it seems like everything is in the way of what I would need to get to to replace these two parts.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

ANSWER: Hi Joe,
You didn't happen to mention which engine is in your car. I can comment/help more accurately if I knew that. The water pump on the 2.5 is driven by the timing belt so often when you need to do one you do the other because you are already "there". The starter motor replacement also depends upon the engine. So please let me know that fact. Also, do you have any repair manual for the car yet?

QUESTION: Sorry Roland. This car has the 2.4 liter engine in it. The timing belt was replaced about 2 years ago when the balancing shaft was replaced. I do not have a repair manual yet.
Joe

ANSWER: Hi Joe,
It is the case that the same removal steps necessary to do the timing belt are needed for the water pump. There is page from the '98 manual that lists the steps which I could xerox copy and postal mail to you.
On the starter, there is similarly a page that describes the steps for that.
If you would like me to do the copying and postal mailing please let me know and tell me a mailing address via the "thank and rate" tab and I will do it today so you won't be delayed. If time is of the essence let me know and I can try to type the information into a response.

QUESTION: I'm actually working on it right now. If you can try to type the info into a response it would be appreciated.

Answer
PS Use the thank and rate tab to let me know...

I assume you mean the water pump:
Where are you in the process, have you taken off the timing belt idler pulley yet, have you been able to remove the cam shaft sprockets (it says a special tool is needed for that), removed the rear timing belt cover, removed the water pump?
Those are the removal step.
Install is to use a new o-ring
install pump to block, tighten screws to 105 inch-pounds (9 foot-pounds)
If you had a way to pressurize the system, check for leaks at o-ring and waterpump shaft
Install rear timing cover
Install sprockets on cam shafts and tighten to 75 foot-pounds
Install idler pulley and tighten to 45 foot-pounds
Install timing belt (there are 6 steps for that,  let me know when you get there)
Then install engine mount bracket and engine mount
Then drive belts.
Sorry to have to be short, I have some other things to deal with.
