Chrysler Repair: 2000 Sebring LXI: output speed sensor, electronic automatic transmission, shaft speed

Question
Where is the speedometer located on the transmission?

Answer
Hi Wendy,
I assume this has the 4-speed electronic automatic transmission. If not let me know. On that transmission the signal comes from the output shaft speed sensor which is located on the side of the trans that faces the front of the car, at the very far end of the transmission just to the right of the vertical shift rod (as viewed from the front of the car), about mid-level on that side. It has two wires (light green/violet and dark blue/brown) and you gently lift the tab on the plug to release it. Then simply unsecrew the sensor and screw in a new one. Tighten it about the same as a spark plug (20 foot-lbs of torque).
