Chrysler Repair: 1987 Chrysler LeBaron no-start, side kick panel, chrysler lebaron

Question
This is a 2dr hardtop, non-turbo 2.5L engine (reman engine installed 2005).  Car
will not start, two different dealerships have had it for a total of several
months and neither could fix it.  When the key is turned on, the fuel pump does
not start, not even for a half second.  I did disconnect the wire from the PCM
to the coil and jumpered 12v to it and the fuel pump ran just fine. The car will
crank but will not fire.  I've substituted two different PCMs with no change in
symptoms (all 3 PCMs are different internally but have the same connections and
all the other 2 came out of 1987 LeBaron no-turbo cars), and I can't find a part
number on any of them).  There are no fault codes displayed. This car has the
computer behind the passenger side kick panel and the PCM in the left front
engine compartment next to the battery with two cables connected to it.  Roland
responded to this query with a request for more info (http://www.allexperts.com/user.cgi?m=6&catID=807&qID=4720106),
most of which is included here.

Note that I also jumpered 12v to the coil terminal with the cables connected to it and the fuel pump started.  I did not try to start the car with that jumper in place.

Answer
Hi Bob,
I would not hesitate to try to start the car with the jumper in place as a true test of the problem to see if it will run that way. All you are doing is by-passing the ASD circuit and so if it will run that way we can focus on that issue. It is not safe to drive with it that way as if there is an accident the fuel pump and spark would still be energized which could cause a fire. But in a static situation there is no risk. Let me know what you find out.
