Chrysler Repair: location of thermostat: 3.2/3.5, concorde lxi, chrysler engines

I have a 2002 concorde lxi 6cyl. Car is over heating, temp.gauge drops when engine is revved. I'm thinking maybe the thermostat. I can't locate the thermostat. Do you know where it is located?

Hi Alex,
You must have a 3.2 or 3.5L engine as that one has the thermostat housing low on the block. You will find it where the lower radiator hose is connected to the engine. On the 2.7 and most other Chrysler engines it is at the hose that connects to the upper radiator. Thus your difficulty in locating it.
