Chrysler Repair: 94 intrepid no spark, camshaft sensor, crank sensor

Question
QUESTION: the car started acting up by the cuise light coming on and then stalling after it cooled down it would run again for about 20 min then the cuise light agian. I replaced the cam sensor then the crank sensor switched out the asd relay and now its not starting not getting spark please help

ANSWER: Hi Daniel,
Did it every run after you replaced the cam and crank sensor (or if you replaced the separately, did it run after you replaced only one of them, and if so which one)?  If not, did you push the sensors in far enough so the tip of each sensor touched the surface it is supposed to sense? If not, do that now, as the paper on the tip of the new sensor is the proper spacing and you have to have the spacer on the tip and position it in contact with the surface. Then tighten the retaining bolt sufficiently so it won't move back.
While it might be the sensors it could also be something else. I would use the ignition key to see if the engine controller has stored any fault codes in its memory. "On-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. The check engine light will remain "on" but then begin to flash, pause, flash, etc.
Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to assure an accurate count. The last two sets of flashes will always be 5 in each. Then group the numbers in pairs in the order of appearance to form the 2-digit fault codes. The last number is always 55 which means "end of readout". Then either write back and tell me the other numbers or go to www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html for a code list.
Those are the next steps that I can suggest. Let me know what you learn and we'll go from there.

QUESTION: i get code 54 crank position sensor that i have replaced twice.  The ECM and PCM are they the same computer located under the intake air boxes filter and is there a fuse in or on one

Answer
Hi Daniel,
The 54 code is the camshaft sensor, not the crank sensor. The two modules are near each other, the pcm (engine) under the filter box next to the frame rail, the tcm (transmission) is against the inner fender. I would disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes to erase the codes (verify afterward that you only have a 12 code), then try to start it a few times and see if you get the code 54 again. That would verify that the sensor is not positioned properly or that its wiring is no getting to the pcm. Orange should have 9V coming from pin 7, and when you crank the engine by hand using a socket and breaker bar on the crank nut you should see alternating voltage of 0.3 to 5V between the other two wires (tan/yellow to pin 44, black/light blue to pin 4) if the ignition key is "on".
I don't recall a fuse.
