Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Le Baron dies, then will restart, chrysler le baron, hi amy

Question
I have a '85 Le Baron.  When I'm going down the road the power light comes and then it acts like I have taken my foot off the gas and dies.  I can let it set for a few seconds til a minute and then it will crank back up and go again.

Answer
Hi Amy,
This appears to be one of the sensors of engine position is breaking down. These breakdown in just the manner you describe. But you need to find out which one is breaking down:
I would try using the ignition key to get a fault code readout:"On-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the power loss light which remains "on" to begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to be sure of an accurate count. Then group the numbers in pairs in the order of appearance to form the 2-digit fault codes. The last code will always be 55 which means "end of readout". Then go to www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html for a code listing or write me back with the numbers. I assume that you have the 2.2L turbo engine, otherwise tell me.
