Chrysler Repair: Jeep Grand Cheroke Loretta , Locking problem, striker plate, t claim

Question
a few weeks ago I was driving and after about 10 my locks started clicking, usually only happens once after starting it, Since then my remote only opens my drivers door. and the unlock button on my drivers side only unlocks my drivers door, no other . Can someone explain to me what could be wrong I would greatly appreciate it. I'm worried because today I went to start my jeep and it wouldn't unlock my alarm system so I went and bought new batteries for my remote and it unlocked the alarm system, but still isn't unlocking the door except the drivers door. Id appreciate any feedback Thanks

Answer
Hi April,
I don't claim any expertise about Jeeps because I have no shop manuals for that line of vehicles. But the multiple clicking after you have driven for awhile is probably caused by a door being too loosely secured. If you will start the car as normal, then before moving try pushing outward from inside the car on each of the doors. You should find one that causes the locks to do the clicking. That door needs to have its striker plate that is mounted on the door jamb moved in-board enough to secure the door more firmly against the jamp.
Because I don't have wiring diagrams I can't give you specific ideas about the non-funcion of some of them. But see what the door adjustment does for the problem.
