Chrysler Repair: # 19 IOD fuse keeps blowing: LH car?, body control module, ohmmeter

Question
The fuse keeps blowing whether you have the keys in or not. The temp control, radio, interior lgts, door lks, remote mirrors and trunk release quit working. Car runs fine. Suspect bad bcm or direct short. Has been blowing fuse occasionally. New fuse used to fix it until now

Answer
Hi Curtis,
I infer that you have an Intrepid, Concorde, LHS or 300 because that body has fuse 19 assigned to those several functions. The most efficient way to find the problem is to have an ohmmeter so as to measure the resistance between several different circuits and ground to find which one has a short. There are four different plugs on the junction box/body control module which have a pin or so to test. So if you want to do those tests please send a followup telling me that you have a ohmmeter and which year is your vehicle and I will tell you which are pins you need to measure. Once you find the circuit, then we can test/remove from the circuit those items that it powers and find out which is shorting out.
