Chrysler Repair: Car blowing #8 position 20 amp fuse, amp fuse, starter solenoid

Question
QUESTION: Hello Louis,

1997 Sebring Conv.  Just returned from 2 month trip.  When I tried to start the car, battery was down. Charged and attempted to start.  It wouldn't start till I pumped the throttle.  Finally idled with out assist.  Next day it started, but on third day. Fuse was blown on the Run/Start/Acc and Start, #8 fuse on the underhood fuse box.  Replaced the fuse and it blew again.  Is it possible I have a bad fuel pump, or Starter Solenoid.  How do I check for this?

Thank you so much.  I noted Roland was working with a gentlemen who seems to have a very similar problem.  Will a diagnostic tester find this without the engine running?

ANSWER: If it was me I would probably start by unplugging the easy things on that circuit and seeing if it stops blowing the fuse I would probably start with the radio and go from there any accessory first

QUESTION: Thank you Louis for prompt answer.  The fuse I mentioned is blowing when i attempt to start.  In other words, the moment I turn the key in the ignition.  I think I have had a slow drain on the battery from somewhere?  I just thought maybe the fuel filter had clogged and put to much pressure on fuel pump or it is more solinoid/starter related.  Frustrating and I am pretty handy.
Thanks again.

Answer
Well it could be a starter or an ignition switch but probably a starter try to un hook the electrical going to the starter and tape up the ends of the wire so they don't touch any metal grounding the wires out and then try to turn the key of course the car wont start because no juice to the battery but does it blow the fuse and if not you know its the starter
