Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Voyager 3.3 LE AWD Braking problem, master brake cylinder, power brake booster

Question
Keep having to top up brake fluid, checked whole system and cannot find any leaks. Can hear motor pump above fluid reservoir when I apply the brakes. Emergency stops a thing of the past (about 200 yards). I am located in Spain half way up a mountain. The local mechanics put new front pads in, but runs when asked to look at this problem. Due to my location, lets just say my wife`s laundry has increased. Hope you can help, thanks

Answer
Hi Michael,
There is no hidden reservoir that can be 'closeting' the missing brake fluid, except maybe one.. Until you locate where it is leaking from there will be no resolution. Have you tried removing the wheels and closely examing the calipers (cylinders if drum brakes on rear) for leaks? Any thing showing on the inside surface of tires from drip down? How about the carpeting inside the cabin directly under the master brake cylinder piston rod (that is attached to the brake pedal)? Also check the firewall side of that same area immediately behind the master cylinder.
Traced all the lines? If all those seem dry, then I would look carefully at the power brake booster canister as the location of an internal leak. You might want to remove that and shake it to see if you can detect any fluid inside of it. I hope this approach will yield results for you.
